The Money Bar Beach Club
 |
In the area formerly known as Dzul Ha, you’ll find the Money Bar Beach Club at Dzul Ha Reef. A great restaurant and bar that’s
open during the day and in the evening too, and there is a water sports center.
I did have lunch there the other day…crispy fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. What a treat!
|
 |
You can eat outside, or under the very large palapa. |
 |
|
This is a great place for
snorkeling, and they have snorkel gear and kayaks for
rent. Here is some of what is available at the BeachComber Watersports Center at the Money Bar Beach Club.
Complete set of snorkel gear $12 (mask, fins, snorkel and inflatable vest)
Glass bottomed kayaks are $25/hour
English speaking guided
snorkel tour $20 (10am and 1:30pm daily)
Sail Kayak - $25/hour

Church outreach program
One of the churches here on Cozumel collects clothing, household items, toys and other items, and on a regular basis goes out to different areas to bring those items to families that are in need….both here on Cozumel and in the jungle on the mainland. In addition, the church group purchases food basics…beans, rice, oil, salt, sugar and maize flour.
One church that is active with this outreach mission work is Jesús es Rey, and they do have a website in English and church services in English too. |
 |

|

|
| Members of the church are also planning to bring Spanish books including Spanish bibles so if you have any items you would like to donate, please check their website and contact them.
The English website is http://www.jesus-es-rey-cozumel.com

Beautiful things for your island home
On Ave. 30, between Calle 17 and Calle 19, you’ll find a delightful store called Ambiants. I’m definitely a fan and have a number of things I’ve purchased there including several pieces of art for my walls, a lamp, dining table, two occasional tables, and a number of decorative accessories.
Ambiants also has mirrors, and an assortment of casual furniture with a contemporary flair. The styles are functional, and in rattan, wood and natural fibers.

Kinta again
I’ve had another delicious meals at Kinta Restaurant...well, actually several
delicious means there
since I mentioned them in the January newsletter, but recently we sat in the garden.
The decor inside is very attractive and the garden is lovely too. The meal was again, simply
wonderful!
They are open from 6pm til 11pm, Tuesday-Sunday and they are on Ave. 5 Norte, between Calle 2 and Calle 4. There is a parking lot right across the street.
It's a very small restaurant with limited seating, so I’d suggest calling for reservations. 869-0544. |

Square downtown
A great deal of work has been done lately on the main square downtown, and although it’s not totally completed yet it is looking beautiful. |

Monthly rates for a long term stays.
There are some very economical but nice, clean rentals for a longer term stay this year, and here are a couple of ideas.
Amethyst will currently accept a long term rental (2 months or more) for $700/month plus 12% local fees and you pay the electricity. This is currently available until Dec. 1, 2008. Check the online newsletter for the website.
At Suite Idell, for a stay of 2 months or longer during the summer and fall of 2008 the rate is only $650/month plus 12% local fees, and that includes electricity, purified water and once a week maid service and linen/towel change.

Last Minute Vacation Rental Specials
Now and then there are vacation rentals that offer specials for last minute reservations that are made within 30 days of arrival. If you have a trip for Cozumel planned soon you can email and check to see if there are any last minute specials during that time.

| EXCHANGE RATE. During April the exchange rate that we saw at the money exchanges and the banks when changing dollars into pesos on
Cozumel was 10.1 pesos to the U.S. dollar.
Gracias y hasta luego,
